Are you interested in receiving expert advice about the college admissions process? Would you like help developing a powerful and individual common application essay? Karen Marks of North Star Admissions Consulting will be conducting a series of weekend seminars to help prospective college applicants shape their candidacy and write their common application essay. Students will leave with a completed common application essay at the end of the weekend. Custom seminars are also available, please inquire.

Sample Seminar Itinerary
Thursday evening before the workshop
7:00 pm to 8:00 pm: Overview of the admissions process
Learn the ins and outs of the college admissions process. This is an overview for students and parents who wish to gain a foundational understanding of the admissions process including key areas that the admissions officers are paying attention to.
Saturday and Sunday
9:00 am to 12:00 pm: Small group workshops
Draft and refine your common application essay with expert guidance. During the small group workshops students have an opportunity to craft and refine their essays with direct feedback and guidance from peers and from Karen. Learning through peer example and personal experience students can witness how different qualities can be refined to become strengths and highlighted to differentiate their application.
To be scheduled after the seminar, each participant will receive a supplemental, one hour consultation with Karen to discuss supplemental essays, interview skills, school selection, financial aid, and more.
